Description

Remington Model 700 BDL bolt-action sporting rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield. This rifle was manufactured in January 1981, as established by the Remington barrel date code “BB.” It was later offered through the Cabela’s Gun Library in Avon, Ohio, providing documented retail provenance for this particular rifle.
The rifle is a traditional early-1980s Model 700 BDL, featuring a high-gloss checkered walnut stock, blued barreled action, hinged floorplate, jeweled bolt, and factory-style iron sights. The stock displays the characteristic BDL styling of the period, including impressed/checkered grip and fore-end panels, contrasting fore-end treatment, raised Monte Carlo-style comb with cheekpiece, and a basket-weave Pachmayr recoil pad.
The rifle is fitted with a period Leupold Vari-X II 2–7x riflescope mounted in quick-detach rings, an especially appropriate optic for the age and sporting configuration of the rifle. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting while the original-style front and rear sights remain installed.
