2A-Sanctuary-Movement

Welcome to the UGE 2A Sanctuary Coordination Page.

Page created: February 12, 2020

Page last updated: August 2, 2021

Question:    What is a 2A Sanctuary County?

Answer:  A 2A  Sanctuary County  refers to a county that has adopted a Resolution or passed an Ordinance  to prohibit or impede the enforcement of certain gun control measures that infringe on the Second Amendment.

Question:  What is the difference between a 2A Sanctuary Resolution and a 2A Sanctuary Ordinance?

Answer:  Where Resolution is a statement of intent and or purpose, an Ordinance is a binding  law enacted by a municipal body, such as a city council or county commission.

The purpose of this page is to provide needed information for people who want to coordinate in the effort to create  2A Sanctuary Counties.

Steps to take to help make your County a 2A Sanctuary:

  1. Request to join our Facebook Group, Utah Gun Exchange Community.   Select this link to join: https://www.facebook.com/groups/155430211839647/
  2. Write your first post to the Utah Gun Exchange Community Facebook Group stating:
  3.  What county you live in
  4.  What county you want to  help with
  5. Whether you want to be a County Coordinator OR an assistant.  A coordinator must have a Facebook page.  (please note, we will check pending posts and join requests several times a day to approve)
  6.  If we already have a coordinator, we will tell you how to reach that person through a private message
  7. Connect with others in your county by checking our Facebook Community page daily for new posts and information
  8. We recommend the following:
    • Find your County in the list  BELOW and check the current status, and action needed.
    • Begin working  with the Coordinator if one is already appointed, or begin working the process below.
    • Email and call your Commission & Sheriff offices and let them know you are working with a group to get a 2A Sanctuary County Resolution on their meeting agenda; get everyone you know to do the same.
    • Gather any additional or updated information when you connect with the Commission Office, Sheriffs office and any other entity.
    • Post new information / updates that you get on the Facebook Community page (our preference), or, you may also email updates to [email protected].
    • UGE will take all recently learned  info and update this page with all current County status activity.
    • UGE will post alerts about county updates on  our Facebook Community page.
    • UGE will post alerts on our main UGE Facebook page.
