We want to thank each and every person that came out to the Rally at the State Capitol on Saturday Feb. 8th 2020! We had an amazing turn out & tons of volunteers, and we cannot thank you enough. We will be posting some powerful pictures that have been sent in. It really was a great day.
That being said, NOW is the time to take further action! We have our Legislator’s attention, let’s remind them they can be voted out if they do not listen to their constituents.
ACTION ITEM 1
Beginning today, we are asking each and every one of you to take a few minutes to call/text AND email/mail letters to your Representatives letting them know that if they do ANYTHING to infringe on your Second Amendment Rights, that they will NOT have your vote in the future. Tell them that you oppose:
- Red Flag Laws
- Universal Background Checks
- Elimination of Private Transfers
- Anything that would further infringe on your Second Amendment Rights
Here is how you can EASILY find your Representatives and their CONTACT INFO to send them these messages:
- Go to https://le.utah.gov/GIS/findDistrict.jsp
- Enter your street address & zip code
- Click on the Representative and Senator’s Names that are displayed
- A page will be pulled up with their Mailing Address, Phone Number and Email Address
- Email, text, call and write letters to them as often as you can
We cannot let Utah become the next Virginia! We cannot be apathetic! Make your voice be heard NOW!

Come to the State Capitol
WHEN:
Thursday, February 20th 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
WHERE:
Utah State Capitol – Hall of the Governors Room below the Capitol Rotunda (this is on the first floor).
WHAT:
We will be meeting and letting our Representatives and Senators know, in person, how we will be voting when it comes to Gun Legislation being presented in Utah. There will be an official agenda and briefing with the attendees before we do a parade inside the Capitol. We will take pictures together on the inside stairs in front of the chamber doors of the House of Representatives. We will also work to meet with our Representatives and Senators while there.
WHAT TO BRING:
Please bring yourself and smile; no signs, flags, etc.
Concealed Carry is requested if a person chooses to carry. This is a different type of event than what is usually done. Future events may involve plans for open carry, but not this one.
DRESS CODE:
This event will have a dress code and we ask that you come dressed in CLEAN CASUAL or BUSINESS CASUAL fashion. Uniform blue and white GUNS SAVE LIVES tee shirts and stickers will be provided to the attendees to wear and show our strength, unity and support of the 2nd Amendment
WHAT TO LEAVE BEHIND:
Signs, Flags and other symbols normally seen at a Pro 2A Freedom Rally.
We created a list of Volunteer contact information from the Rally on Feb. 8th for those who want to attend the next event themed GUNS SAVE LIVES. If you would like to volunteer to attend the GUNS SAVE LIVES event or register for future events and did not sign our volunteer list at the Rally, you can email us at [email protected] and let us know that you want to be on that list. We will be sending out regular updates for future events to everyone on that list.

Info On The Proposed Legislation From our Friends at the NRA 02/04/2020
“The Utah Legislature began its 2020 legislative session last Monday, and anti-gun lawmakers are already introducing numerous gun control bills. It is important that gun owners and sportsmen across Utah stay actively involved in these issues throughout 2020.
Multiple gun control measures have already been introduced and your legislators need to hear from you.
House Bill 109 bans most firearm sales and transfers between private individuals without first paying fees and obtaining government permission. Firearm sales between friends or neighbors would not be exempted. This proposal would have no impact on crime and is completely unenforceable.
House Bill 115 defines “firearm custodian” and makes them liable for the illegal actions of others. This measure could make law-abiding gun owners liable if their firearms were stolen and then used in a crime, shifting the responsibility from criminals to law-abiding individuals.
House Bill 136 creates a blanket requirement that all firearms be locked and stored in a manner where an unauthorized or prohibited person would be unable to access them. Gun safety and storage is a matter of personal responsibility and every person’s situation is different. It is unreasonable for the law to impose a one-size-fits-all solution. In short, this measure invades people’s homes and forces them to render their firearms useless for self-defense or become criminals.
House Bill 229 is an extreme “red flag” gun confiscation measure that authorizes the seizure of firearms and ammunition from individuals without sufficient due process. Anti-gun lawmakers have introduced this measure to damage the Second Amendment rights of Utahans. Bills similar to this one have been introduced in a number of other states, wholly supported by gun control organizations and the lawmakers they have invested in.
Constitutional rights should only be restricted with sufficient due process of law. The Right to Keep and Bear Arms should not be treated as a second-class right and should only be restricted when due process protections are in place.
It is more important than ever for Utah NRA Members and Second Amendment supporters to contact their lawmakers in opposition to this gun control agenda. The 2020 Session is short and bills will move very quickly.”
