Winchester M1 .30 Carbine original issue 1944 Excellent Condition

US M1 Carbine, SN 5688811, manufactured about May or June, 1944, all original.

Excellent condition. Features include:

Barrel, no bayonet lug, marked “W” and no date

Type 2 wide barrel band, no bayonet lug

L-type flip rear sight

Type 2 low wood stock, with oval oiler recess. Stamped “W.R.A.  G.H.D.”, the inspection mark for Lt. Colonel Guy H. Drewry, Chief Ordnance Inspector.

Two rivet handguard

Push button safety

Magazine catch marked with M

All of the parts are correctly coded for Winchester. The stock W.R.A. G.H.D. stamp is clear and easily readable. The action works smoothly and locks up snug. The sling is original WWII issue.
