Wood Lottery! Marlin 1897 TEXAN 20” Octagon bbl .22 lr – JM Stamped

Exceptionally beautiful example of a very rare Marlin. This is the Texan version of the 1897 – essentially the same rifle as the model 39 but with a strait stock and octagon barrel. Marlin released these for a limited time. The Cowboy was the other version, which had a 24” barrel and this one – the TEXAN – has a shorter 20” barrel. Made by Marlin and has the JM stamp.

The walnut stock and forend on this gun are spectacular, with some beautiful figure that seems to change depending on the light.

Includes a tang peep sight. Condition on this is pretty close to perfect – call it 99.5%. These rifles are already scarce and you’re unlikely to ever find one in this condition with wood like this. A true collector’s dream!
