The Original Contender/SSK-50® design is back in production, thanks to the SSK Firearms company. It has been a long time and a big challenge to re-tool for independent production of this classic single shot action. This new SSK-50 updates the original design with modern manufacturing materials and processes that make the gun stronger and more precise… All while maintaining compatibility with Contender® barrels, grips, stocks, and parts*.

* The SSK-50 is produced to the nominal geometry specifications of the last iteration of the Thompson Center Contender with extreme precision and low variation. This new frame sets a benchmark for consistency. That said, the old design was not nearly as consistent so, there MAY be some older Contender barrels/after-market barrel brands that won’t function in this new SSK-50 frame.
