I have a Smith and Wesson, Model 19 with a 4 1/4 inch barrel which I purchased in 1974 or 1975 for what I thought was a breathtaking amount.  I swallowed my pride, purchased the gun and have been petting it all these years.  A divorce is compelling me to sell one of my favorite handguns.

This pistol has target grips, along with a target hammer and target trigger.  For those that remember when Carl Hellstrom (President of Smith and Wesson) and Bill Jordan (a Border Patrolman) collaborated, Jordan thought the frame of the firearm should be built on the “K” frame for strength with a 4” barrel and ejector shroud.  For all these years, the gun speaks for itself.  They re-introduced firearm has a two-piece barrel, mine is a one-piece hammer forged barrel.

I have been looking on line for the value of this particular firearm and as a collectable, I find outrageous prices ranging into the thousands of dollars.  The reintroduced gun has a price tag of $1,200.00 to $1,500.00 which also has a two-piece barrel, no target trigger or target hammer.  As a collectable, I will sell my Smith and Wesson for $1,200.00 which is the bottom end of the new releases.

I think I spent more time looking at this masterpiece than I did shooting it.  This gun has been sitting in my safe for the past twenty or twenty-five years without a shot being fired.  I don’t think I have fired more than three or four boxes of ammo through this jewel.
