A Naginata, similar to the European glaive, is a polearm traditionally used in feudal Japan by Japanese foot soldiers as well as warrior monks. These monks, called sohei, are described by Japanese chroniclers as “whirling their naginata like waterwheels.” This collectible replica naginata consists of a wooden pole with a curved single-edged blade on the end hand forged from high carbon steel. The blade features a double fuller, and comes with a standard sharpening. The handle is decorated with 3 sections of cotton wrapped grips and ends with a cotton wrapped steel ring.
