Description

This is an exceptionally rare and collectible WWII German Luftwaffe Celebratory Cognac glasses made and awarded for the successful invasion of Poland 1939. The inscription on the lid of the purple velvet box reads “Flieger Sind Sieger Polen 1939” which translates to “Aviators are Winners Poland 1939” complete with the Luftwaffe flying eagle Carrington the Swastika.

This piece of N azi memorabilia is exceptionally rare and has never been seen before. I have done extensive research on the set and have not found another like it. It may be presumed that this set of 6 Sterling Silver Cognac glasses was given as a set to pilots or officers as a gift for a job well done in invading and capturing Poland at the start of the war.

The set is in remarkable condition! The 6 glasses are in very fine shape with a very nice blue patina on the outside and are nice and bright on the inside. While the box has worn corners on the velvet, it is not broken in any way and retains its original rigidity. The plaque on the cover of the box may either be solid silver or a plated puter, I am not sure which. The Luftwaffe Eagle has been soldered on by the maker (as it should be), so it is not cast as a solid piece with the square plate.

This fine set is guaranteed to make an excellent display piece to any avid WWII German military collector or to any museum. The brass hinges and clasps are exceptionally tight.

Feel free to reach out anytime with interest or questions, thank you!
