Are you a new handgun owner, or are you looking to carry with confidence? Are you a season shooter but wanna knock the rust off. Our defensive pistol fundamentals course is a four hour comprehensive introduction to the realities of defensive shooting hosted by UPT, This class it designed from the ground up to take you from a static target shooter to a capable, confident, safe defender.

This course will take place on June 20. The start time will be 9 AM and the course will run until 1 PM. The course will be held on the Morgan County shooting range.

The following The topics will be covered in this course: firearm safety, this is non-negotiable the rules of safe carrying and handling A pistol. The fundamentals this includes step-by-step instruction on perfecting your grip stance side, alignment, and trigger control. Draw stroke, had a safely and efficiently draw your firearm from a holster and engage at target. Recoil management, We will teach you to effectively control the recoil of your firearm for faster, more accurate follow up shots. Malfunctions, Had to clear and make rid of your firearm After experiencing a malfunction type 1,2,and 3. Other topics we will get into our round placement, thread, identification, and target acquisition.

You will need the following items to attend this course. Handgun with a quality holster to secure this handgun in. This can be inside the waistband or outside the waistband. The choice is yours. You will need at least 300 rounds of ammunition to complete this course, most shoot closer to 500 rounds so plan accordingly. We will allow you to shoot as much as you want. Magazines, we recommend three per platform and a way to secure those magazines via mag pouches or other. Hearing an eye protection are mandatory as well closed toe shoes. It will be hot, so don’t forget sunscreen, lots of water and snacks as we will not break for lunch.
