Winchester Model 55 .22 S/L/LR single shot “automatic ejecting” rifle

Description

Made 1958–1961, approx. 45,000 produced. No serial number (pre-1968 rimfire, C&R eligible). All original — no refinish to wood or metal. Approx. 90% original blue, thinning to gray on the receiver at the ejection port and bolt handle. Barrel roll marks crisp and sharp. Original walnut stock with original finish, scattered light handling scratches on the forend and comb, no cracks or repairs. Both original sights present and undamaged. Steel trigger guard intact, action functions correctly. No box or paperwork.

This is a great training rifle.  Makes the shooter cock the action once.  One round is loaded from the top.  When that plastic plunger goes down, safety goes on.  The shooter is then required to take safety off in order to shoot.  Round is fired and shell casing dumps out the bottom.  Cycle then repeats.  Makes a new shooter slow down and go through a procedure rather than keep pulling the trigger without thinking.  I loved it when training my kids.
