or a Ruger Mini-14 Tactical rifle bayonet lug. This comes with the original issue Bianchi Scabbard

The M9 bayonet, officially known as the Phrobis III for government/military issue, is a multi-purpose knife and bayonet officially adopted in 1986 by the United States military.

THIS KNIFE/SCABBARD WAS MADE IN 1987. It has a 7″ blade and was issued with the original scabbard designed to double as a wire cutter.

The M9 bayonet is an iconic bayonet. It has served our military very well and has played a role in the most important military events of our time.

This EARLY knife is RARE beacuse it is marked “BUCK” for the civilian market. Buck had the military contract for these knives in 1986. The military found out that Buck had also manufactured a few of these knives in 1987 for the civilian market. Our government ordered Buck to stop making these knives for the civilian market. Thus ends the early production of these knives marked “BUCK”. This is one of the VERY FEW THAT WERE EVER MADE!
