This firearm is a Springfield Armory Model 1903 NRA Sporter rifle manufactured in 1929. Serial number 1324394 falls within the documented production period of NRA Sporter rifles, and the barrel is correctly dated July 1929, consistent with original NRA Sporter production. Based on examination, the receiver and barrel are correct for an NRA Sporter rifle of this era. The rifle is configured in sporting form and fitted with a Redfield receiver-mounted target sight. The bolt body is polished in a manner consistent with period sporting configuration. The rifle has been restocked in a sporting-style walnut stock. The stock is not original to the rifle.
