Own a piece of the original side-charging AR story. This is a complete LAR Grizzly OPS-4 side-charging upper, built by the company that pioneered the design and has been out of business for years. LAR’s machining was known for its quality, and clean OPS-4 uppers rarely come up for sale.

What you get

• LAR OPS-4 side-charging upper receiver with LAR hex logo
• Side-charge bolt carrier group installed
• Free-float quad rail handguard with hex cutouts and full-length rail sections
• [16″] [caliber,.223 / 5.56 NATO] barrel, [twist rate 1:8], with flash hider
• Black finish, no scope-blocking charging handle on top

Why the OPS-4: The reciprocating side charger keeps the top rail clear for optics, runs without a stock charging handle in the way, and gets very good reviews. Production ended when LAR closed, and uppers like this are hard to replace.

Provenance: I’m Karl Augat, former Vice President and plant manager at LAR Manufacturing, and the son of Heinz Augat. I presented the OPS-4 at SHOT Show 2010. You’re buying from someone who knew this product from the inside.
