Description

Seeking Supermatic Citation (Model 103) Barrel

Quick summary: Approximately 35 years ago I inherited a High Standard Supermatic Citation (Model 103) – SN 1260XXX.

Because I was young, poor, stupid, etc., I sold it to a friend about 30 years ago. This month (June 2026) I was able to get MOST of it back (the pistol, a custom folding carbine barrel with scope and magazines).

That’s the good news.

The bad news is I didn’t get EVERYTHING back. He can’t find the original box, the original magazine box and, most importantly, he can’t find the original barrel.

So…

I’m on the hunt for a High Standard barrel.

Looking at it, I think I would be happy to locate a 5.5 inch barrel, 6 3/4 inch barrel, 7 3/4 inch barrel or ESPECIALLY an 8 inch or 10 inch barrel.

My preference would be 8 inch barrel that has the mounted rear sight on the barrel itself since there is no rear sight on the slide of my pistol and I THINK the original barrel had the rear sight mounted on the barrel).

Because the custom carbine barrel I have is approximately 27 inches long – the barrel itself is approximately 22 inches long and I have a scope on it – I don’t think I need a drilled or tapped barrel, I’m just going to shoot this barrel with the High Standard sights.

While I would, obviously, prefer my friend find the original barrel, I have mentally decided if he doesn’t find it in a certain timeframe, I’ll buy another original High Standard barrel, although a Volquartson, a Victor X, a LSP or an Interarms barrel would probably also work.

Does anyone have any leads or recommendations for me? Thank you, sincerely, for any help you can provide!
