Description
A brief history of this rifle. This was designed by Louis Imperato, manufactured by Erma Werke, in West Germany and distributed in the U. S. by the Ithaca Gun Co., Ithaca, NY., as the Model 72 Saddle Gun, from 1973 to 1979. After Erma Werke stopped production, Imperato then bought the rights for the design “back” from Erma Werke. Louis Imperato and his son Anthony Imperato (current owner) purchased the rights for the Henry Repeating Arms name in 1996 and the first model produced was the Henry H001 Classic Lever Action .22 LR, using the same design as the Saddle Gun. That being said, this is a direct ancestor of the Henry H001 Classic Lever Action rifle still being produced today.
