Up for sale is a one-of-a-kind custom Remington 700 ADL  in 25-06 Rem, built by respected gunsmith Lou LaBerge of Vermont. This rifle came out of my uncle’s estate collection — I’m not a 25-06 shooter/reloader, so I’m letting it go to someone who’ll actually use it. I have never fired this rifle.

I am sure this rifle has a low round count, rifling is sharp and clean. I think he had it built for a sheep hunt back in the early 90’s. I doubt he did more than zero and practice with it before his hunt.

This is a 1990’s built 700 based on the serial number.

The Build

• Action skeletonized for weight reduction also by Mr. LaBerge
• Factory 25-06 barrel turned down/lightened by LaBerge — 22″
• Barrel, marked “25-06 Rem By LL”
• Lone Wolf custom stock, professionally bedded to the action
• Timney trigger (light and crisp)
• All-up weight under 7lbs with scope mounted, genuinely light for a 25-06

• Talley one-piece base and integrated rings (super-light mounting system)

Condition
Good condition overall. There is some visible wear at the toe/heel of the buttstock from handling and storage (see photos), along with a few light scratches consistent with normal use prior to coming into my possession. Mechanically sound, action cycles smoothly, bedding is solid. Bore and overall fit/finish reflect a quality custom build that was well cared for.

Why it’s special
This isn’t a sporterized stock rifle — it’s a purpose-built lightweight 25-06 from a known custom gunsmith, with excellent gun-smithing work (skeletonizing, blueprinting, barrel turning, bedding) rather than just a parts swap. A great option for someone who wants a featherweight mountain/backcountry rifle in a flat-shooting caliber.
