Colt LE6940P Advanced Piston Carbine (Law Enforcement Trade-In)

Up for sale is a Colt LE6940P piston-driven carbine, originally acquired as a law enforcement trade-in. This rifle is in good condition and functions as it should.

As commonly seen with many agency-issued rifles, the original stock and receiver extension were drilled and pinned in a fixed position by the department. I have corrected this by replacing the factory-drilled receiver extension with a Lewis Machine & Tool (LMT) receiver extension and LMT stock, restoring normal stock function.

About the LE6940P

The LE6940P is one of Colt’s more unique and innovative AR-platform rifles. Introduced around 2012, it combined Colt’s proven monolithic one-piece upper receiver with the company’s proprietary Articulating Link Piston (ALP) system. Unlike conventional short-stroke piston ARs, the ALP design uses an articulated operating rod that helps reduce piston-induced stress and carrier tilt while allowing for thermal expansion. The result is a cleaner-running, durable piston-operated rifle that retains much of the feel and accuracy of a traditional AR platform.
