Description
This is an Armored Republic Veritas plate carrier that comes with 2 Level III+ plates and a 6 mag High Speed Taco Mag pouch. Offering at $500 for the set up.
Plate Carrier: The Armored Republic Veritas carrier was a light alternative to heavier Testudo plate carriers formerly offered by Armored Republic. I bought this carrier in 2020. It’s seen very light use, as I re-joined the National Guard several years later and have used my issued carrier for any kind of training since. Spent more time in my grab bag than anything else. I don’t plan on leaving the National Guard anytime soon, so finally getting around to selling this to make some extra money for bills. They don’t make the Veritas anymore, but the closest equivalent, their lightweight Invictus, goes for $279 brand new.
Level III+ plates: Made w/ AR500 steel, these plates were bought in 2020 at the same time as the carrier. They have a 20 year shelf life. Definitely heavier than ceramic plates, but they make more sense for civilian tactical gear since they last so much longer. These are rated by Armored Republic as Level III+, and will stop most ammunition including 5.56 & 7.62. They’re also treated with Armored Republic’s FragLock coating, which helps to avoid fragmentation of rounds that hit the steel plates and ricocheting up into your chin. Brand new Level III+ plates from Armored Republic go for between $119-$199 each.
High Speed Gear 6 mag Taco Pouch: This is a professional grade, highly sought out, and high quality way to carry magazines on a tactical set up. I used one just like it on my kit when I deployed to Syria. This kind of mag pouch splits the difference between the choice you often have to make between retention and access. The taco pouch tightens down however tight you’d like, retaining the magazines effectively, and avoids any type of flap or clip down over the top of the magazines. And since the pouches are adjustable, they can work with various sizes of magazines. The designated marksman in my squad used the exact same kind of taco pouch for his 7.62 mags as I did for my 5.56 mags. These taco pouches, when they’re in stock, go for about $130.
I’m offering the whole set up for $500.
