1978 Colt MKIV Series 70 Gold Cup National Match (Read Description)

Description

Here is a pretty clean example of a 1978 Colt MKIV Series 70 Gold Cup National Match.

It is in good condition overall. It maintains nearly all of the original finish. (Gold color fill has faded in a couple spots on the roll marks)

I bought this pistol a few months ago on GunBroker for about $1500. I replaced the recoil springs with standard
16LB Wilson Combat springs.

** I found that this pistol has an issue. Sometimes under recoil the pistol experience partial hammer follow. (When the slide cycles forward, the hammer does not stay fully cocked and rests on the “half cock” safety notch **

The solution is likely as simple as changing the main spring, but I have not had the time to solve the issue.
Hence the very reasonable price.
