Offered for sale is a 1973 Colt Combat Commander chambered in .45 ACP. This is a pre-Series 80 Combat Commander with its original carbon steel frame and slide, original Colt barrel, and original blued finish. It was purchased new from Cheshire & Perez in Monrovia, California, and has been well cared for throughout its life. Serial Number: 70BS155XX. This Combat Commander is in excellent condition for a 52-year-old Colt. The original blued finish has been well preserved and shows only light holster and handling wear consistent with careful ownership. There is no rust, pitting, or evidence of abuse. The roll marks remain sharp and well defined, and the pistol presents exceptionally well. Mechanically, the pistol is in immaculate condition. The slide cycles smoothly, barrel lockup is tight, and the thumb safety, grip safety, slide stop, magazine release, and trigger all function properly. The original Colt barrel has a bright bore with strong rifling, and the feed ramp is clean. The pistol has not been refinished or modified. Has Pachmayr Police-style grips, a common period upgrade installed by Cheshire & Perez at sale. This is an honest, well-maintained example with known ownership history from new, something not often found with Colts of this era.
