1885 Winchester Octagon Barrel 32 WCF Artifact Find!

Here’s a very interesting piece of Winchester history that would make a great display and conversation piece! This gun was found buried in a pasture in Farr West, Utah with only 4 inches of the end of the barrel sticking out of the ground! The owner of the property carefully dug the remaining 31” of the action and barrel out of the ground. This gun has been identified as an 1885 Winchester single shot lever action rifle in 32 WCF caliber. It has a 27” long octagon barrel and has no visible markings because of the rust. Very heavy barrel and action with the hammer still present and breach block. According to the history of the area, there were soldiers in this area as well as Shoshone Indians which could explain the origin of the gun. Asking 400 or best offer. Located in Herriman, Utah.
