Description

Romanian MD63 AKM built from an original issued full auto military rifle. This was originally built at the Cugir factory in 1976 with an original serial number of GS3603, converted from 7.62×39 to 5.56/.223. Accepts readily available commercial 5.56 mags and AK74 Mags with follower. 1/2×28 RH concentric muzzle threads. Can install the proper fitting muzzle device of your choice and check at cost.

Build Details

After these rifles were imported we inspect all the parts for serviceability. This rifle has been converted from 7.62×39 to 5.56. We rebuild the rifles as semi auto using a high quality receivers with correct Romanian selector markings and notches. The barrel is high quality U.S. made. The front trunnion has been marked and worn to match the original. The bolt and bolt carrier are made from high quality forgings. All other parts are original. The rails and safety have all been hand fitted and tuned. Hammer, Disconnector, bolt, and bolt carrier friction surfaces have all been smoothed and polished.

Finish

The receiver was blued in a multi step bluing process. Both receiver and barrel were worn to match the wear of the original parts. All other parts retain original finish. This is not parkerized and rubbed with sand paper like most BFPU rifles for sale. The pictures don’t do the finish justice. All wood parts have been lightly cleaned to maintain original finish and treated with boiled linseed oil.

Serial Numbers

All serial numbers are matching with the exception of the 5.56 conversion parts bolt and bolt carrier. Front trunnions S/N and factory markings were replicated to match.

Inspection & Zero

The rifle has been headspace and function checked. Rifle has been zeroed. Ammo and environmental differences may require fine tuning of zero.

Included

Rifle includes a soft case, One 30rd polymer mag, and cable lock.
