This is a WAR FINISH model, meaning it was produced to meet military requirements, but forgo high polish and time consuming finishing processes. Per the markings, it was accepted into military inventory and likely issued to NCO’s or Officers in the European or African theaters.

Markings/Proofs include:
-WEBLEY & SCOTT LTD
-BIRMINGHAM
-MARK IV .38 145/200
-PAT 186131

-W&S Winged Bullet trademark
-WAR FINISH
-Serial 48524 (all matching)
-Crown over NP nitro proof mark
-Crown over BP proof mark
-Crown over BV Birmingham inspection/view mark
-Cylinder chambers marked with alternating Crown/BV and Crown/BP marks
-British Broad Arrow government property/acceptance mark on the frame

Revolver fully functions and all mechanical parts are in good condition. The bore is bright and clean with no significant dark spots, heavy carbon fouling, or obvious deep pitting visible. The rifling is sharp and well-defined — the spiral lands and grooves show clear, continuous definition all the way around.

This is an excellent collector example of a WW2 British-issued Webley.
