Exceptional Weatherby Mark XXII Semi-Automatic .22 LR Deluxe Walnut Japan 

The Mark XXII was designed to bring Weatherby’s signature styling and premium fit and finish to the rimfire market. Unlike typical .22 rifles of the period, the Mark XXII featured select walnut, high-polish bluing, contrasting grip cap and forend tip, skip-line checkering, and Weatherby’s distinctive Monte Carlo stock. These rifles were built to a much higher standard than most production rimfires, making them favorites among collectors and shooters alike.

This example is an outstanding representation of the model. The factory blued finish remains exceptional with only the lightest evidence of careful handling. The beautiful blonde walnut stock displays beautiful natural figure and rich coloring throughout, complemented by contrasting rosewood-style accents, white line spacers, and crisp factory skip-line checkering.

The stock retains an excellent finish with only a few extremely minor handling marks that are difficult to notice and do not detract from the rifle’s appearance. The wood-to-metal fit is excellent throughout.

The receiver retains its jeweled bolt, and the factory open sights remain installed. Overall, this rifle exhibits extremely little evidence of use and has clearly been exceptionally well cared for throughout its life.
