1903 ” Bushmaster” replica

Description

Soon after the attack on pearl harbor United States sent the 158th infantry regiment detached from the 45th Infantry division to the panama canal zone to provide security for the strategically important canal. Full size 1903 rifles were provided but soon proved to be too long and cumbersome for close quarter  jungle fighting. Forty seven hundred rifles were cut down in service for jungle fighting and became known as the bushmaster carbine. Pretty much all of these were destroyed or rearseneled into full size rifles this is a nice copy of what would have been and should be something every springfield collector has in their stable.
