This M45 is in extremely good condition.  It functions flawlessly.

The M45 is an open bolt design with a fixed firing pin.  It has a relatively slow cyclic rate of fire of 550 to 600 rds/min.  The low recoil of the bolt-mechanism actuation, straight blowback,  makes it easy to control during full automatic fire.  Single shots are also easy to achieve, with some training, by letting go of the trigger before another round is cycled.

The M45 has no safety switch. Instead the M45  is put in a safe safety position, by sliding the cocking handle into a short side-slot on the top of the receiver.

The M45 is fairly accurate up to 200 meters.

During the Vietnam War, the M45 was extensively used by Navy Seals. One of the M45’s qualities which appealed to the Seals was that it can fire almost immediately out of the water. The M45 was also by CIA operatives and advisers.  The US Navy was so impressed by the M45 that when Sweden imposed an embargo to the USA, in 1966, Smith & Wesson was given the task of producing a copy. It was designated the Smith & Wesson M76.

The price is $10,000.00.  The buyer must pay a $5,000.00 NON-REFUNDABLE down payment.

The M45 must be transferred on a Form 4, because my NFA license lapse in 2002,
