This new/old gun was purchased in 1998, but was not shot until June 2018. It comes with 2-10 round magazines and 4-15 round magazines. It has had approx. 100 rounds shot through it and is in like new condition.
The Browning BDM (Browning Double Mode) 9mm is known as a gun that was ahead of its time.
“I’ve always been intrigued by the Browning BDM. A cool pistol that was way ahead of its time, one of the unique things about it was the way its frame was manufactured. The backstrap came in from the rear, and when you took the grip off almost all the internals and the frame were accessible. Such a concept allows for simple disassembly and maintenance while still accommodating a generous capacity and keeping the pistol lightweight. I also thought, wouldn’t it be cool to get a 15+1 gun that felt like an Astra A-70? And I could get there by trying the concept of the BDM because its frame doesn’t take up much room.” Bill Wilson, Wilson Combat, By Bob Boyd, Shooting Illustrated
What also makes the pistol unique is a feature that allows operation in two different modes. A small switch, turned by a screwdriver or coin, allows the choice of “Pistol Mode” or “Revolver Mode.” The “Pistol Mode” changes it into a double-action pistol, but the hammer can be cocked and after the next fired cartridge the action cycles the pistol’s slide and subsequent rounds are fired in the single-action mode, until the decocker is used to drop the hammer to the “safe” position. The “Revolver Mode changes the gun into a double-action revolver, however the hammer can be cocked and fired in the single-action mode each time.
