Description

This Winchester Model 70 30-06 caliber rifle was manufactured in 1941 per its serial number on the Winchester site (46XXX).

It is a special version, referenced as the “Carbine”, and has a factory 20″ barrel.  You can verify this special version in the Fjestad Blue Book of Gun Values or other reputable websites that identify the rare 20” barrel version of it made.

It is VERY accurate for having a short barrel, and comes with a vintage Weaver Model V8 (2.5X – 8X power) scope.

It shows normal wear on the stock, barrel and action for a rifle that is 83 years old and used for antelope, deer and elk hunting, but definitely no abuse or any major issues.  Functions flawlessly as pre-64 Winchester Actions do!

For those that know how rare a factory 20” barrel is (they were only produced for a few years starting in 1936); and that most of the 30-06 caliber ones produced in 1941 were purchased by the US Military to support the arming of both Marines and Army troops prior to and immediately after the start of World War II; you understand what a rare opportunity you have to purchase one.

Price wise, you will not find another similar per-War 20” barrel 30-06  Winchester that was most likely sold to the US Government for either Army or Marine usage on this or any firearms website for anywhere close to my asking price.

In addition to its collectability, this is an ideal hunting and shooting rifle in a larger caliber; especially for smaller framed or youth shooters due to the shorter barrel length.
