Remington Model 31 Riot Gun Configuration

Description

This 12g Rem Model 31 is from my deceased Dad’s collection. I kept it as a home defense weapon since it was in a riot shotgun configuration (20 inch cyl. barrel). However, there are no military markings nor does the barrel SN (589XX) match with the receiver SN(763XX). I suspect my Dad picked up a Model 31 riot barrel and matched it with a standard Model 31 receiver. Metal is excellent (93-94 original finish) and wood to be very good (normal wear in the butt stock expected for shotgun of this age). This shotgun is fully functional as a home defense weapon, but it is not collectable as an original Model 31 riot shotgun per say.
